Law Enforcement Officer – University Police Department

About the role

The University Police Department seeks a Law Enforcement Officer to protect the campus community, enforce statutes, and ensure a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position involves patrol duties, incident response, investigations, and community outreach on a university setting.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce traffic, vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian laws; issue citations and manage parking regulations.
• Respond to complaints, disturbances, and law violations; make arrests and conduct apprehensions.
• Conduct preliminary and follow‑up investigations, interview victims, suspects, and witnesses, and prepare thorough written reports.
• Collect, preserve, and maintain evidence for chain‑of‑custody compliance.
• Participate in court and judicial proceedings as required.
• Provide first aid, crowd control, and emergency assistance during special events.
• Assist other law‑enforcement agencies, fire‑rescue services, and emergency medical technicians.
• Develop and deliver community education programs on safety, bicycle registration, theft prevention, and crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED).

Required profile

• Ability to enforce laws and maintain public order on a university campus.
