Latent Print Examiner

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Latent Print Examiner based in Forest Park, Georgia, to support exploitation missions both within the Continental United States and outside it, with deployment. The examiner processes and compares latent prints on evidence and intelligence cases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop latent prints from evidence using standard laboratory procedures such as cyanoacrylate fuming, fluorescent dye stains, powders in suspension, ninhydrin and indanedione
• Identify, label and photograph latent prints, then analyze them in Adobe Photoshop to determine suitability and enter them into a database
• Compare latent prints to known prints and document findings in the Weapons Technical Intelligence Exploitation Analysis Tool (WEAT) database
• Annotate case files, interpret results for forensic and intelligence exploitation, and review reports for fellow examiners
• Maintain chain of custody, mix chemicals, check instruments and reagents, and keep the laboratory clean
• Work in austere OCONUS environments, often remotely, for up to 6 months at a time

Required profile

• At least 1 year of independent experience in a forensic laboratory processing latent prints on criminal evidence and/or intelligence exploitation
• Experience reviewing technical and administrative case files
• Ability to interface with senior DoD personnel, justify technical recommendations and write technical documentation
• 20/20 vision or correctable 20/20 vision with no color vision deficiency
• Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance (US citizenship required), a US passport, and pass a medical assessment
