Landman I – Real Property Management

About the role

The System Land Management Office of Texas A&M University System is seeking a Landman I to support real property ownership verification, contract compliance, and revenue management. Based in College Station, Texas, the role involves detailed analysis of legal documents and production data to protect agency interests.

Key responsibilities

• Review contracts, leases, deeds, wills and related legal documents to confirm agency-owned mineral and royalty rights.
• Analyze title information and ensure necessary curative actions are taken.
• Interpret working and royalty interests from deeds, leases, assignments, and other instruments.
• Monitor lease compliance, surface use terms, and well operations.
• Track drilling operations, well status, and production figures via state/public websites.
• Assess production data to verify lease production requirements.
• Oversee income‑producing contracts, analyze division orders, and ensure accurate revenue calculation and distribution.
• Prepare agreement summaries and communicate findings to relevant departments.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
• Experience or education related to land management, real estate, or mineral rights.
• Ability to interpret legal documents and property records.
• Proficiency in reviewing production and lease data.
