Lab Technologist

About the role

Moog is seeking a Lab Technologist to join its Materials Science team in Blacksburg, VA. You will support product reliability by performing a wide range of material and process analyses in a collaborative, performance‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct tests and analyses on materials, processes, and products using established and new procedures.
• Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and online records of all experiments.
• Interpret analytical results accurately and document findings.
• Develop and document new analytical procedures.
• Operate specialized equipment such as metallography stations, SEM, gas chromatographs, and DSC.
• Assist in training and cross‑training colleagues.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and work with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent education.
• Minimum two years of laboratory experience.
• Ability to follow verbal, written, and computer instructions in English.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
