Lab Technician

About the role

Bodycote is seeking a Lab Technician to join its Huntington Park, CA facility. The role involves preparing and testing customer parts in a safety‑sensitive environment, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review work orders and verify testing requirements.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate testing equipment, including RC hardness testers.
• Conduct tests, evaluate results, and document findings.
• Report any non‑conformances to the manager.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Guide trainees and Level 1 personnel as needed.
• Maintain a safe work area and follow housekeeping standards.
• Handle customer inventory responsibly to prevent loss or damage.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen or permanent resident (ITAR compliance).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of laboratory or related experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and basic metallurgy concepts.
• Strong computer literacy and basic math skills.
• Willingness to work overtime, shifts, or weekends as required.

Required skills

• NDT Level 2 certification (minimum).
• Training and knowledge per NAS‑410 standards.
• Operation of RC hardness testers and related equipment.
• Blueprint and specification interpretation.
• Fundamental knowledge of metallurgy and heat‑treating inspection.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications.
