Lab Supervisor

About the role

The Lab Supervisor is a key leadership position responsible for the strategic and operational excellence of Bosch's brake products validation lab. You will oversee testing of hydraulic brake boosters, brake calipers, and drive‑line parking brakes for medium and heavy trucks, directly contributing to vehicle safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of skilled lab technicians, promoting a culture of safety, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Plan and manage technician workload and equipment capacity to optimise lab throughput and meet critical project deadlines.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot complex issues with test stands and procedures.
• Implement, maintain and improve lab procedures covering safety, quality, procurement and validation testing.
• Establish metrics to quantify test‑equipment utilisation and drive efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate weekly task forecasts with test engineers and align priorities with leadership.
• Conduct goal setting, performance reviews and career‑development coaching for the lab team.
• Ensure thorough training, cross‑training and compliance with HSE and facilities management requirements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a technical laboratory environment.
• Strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage resources, plan capacity and resolve conflicts.
• Excellent communication skills for alignment with engineers, leadership and external labs.
• Experience conducting performance reviews and fostering employee development.

• Operation and troubleshooting of brake test equipment and test stands.
