L2 Systems Engineer (MSP Experience Required)

About the role

Outsourcing Advantage, a boutique BPO provider of back-office and operational support for U.S.-based businesses, is looking for an experienced L2 Systems Engineer with a strong background in Managed Services Provider (MSP) environments. The role suits someone who has supported multiple clients, resolved complex infrastructure issues and managed Microsoft-based environments, and who can independently diagnose problems and deliver support across diverse client setups.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced Level 2 technical support for multiple client environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, servers, endpoints and infrastructure.
• Manage Microsoft cloud technologies including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint and Intune.
• Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Group Policy and directory synchronization.
• Configure and maintain network infrastructure such as firewalls, VPNs, content filtering and security solutions.
• Support virtualization environments and assist with Azure Virtual Machines and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Manage backups, troubleshooting and recovery processes.
• Document service calls, resolutions, configurations, diagrams and procedures, and build technical documentation, checklists and knowledge base articles.
• Research and implement new technologies and tools, communicate with clients, vendors and stakeholders, and meet SLAs while prioritizing multiple tickets.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an MSP environment; in-house IT, single-company help desk or unrelated experience is not a fit.
• Proven experience supporting multiple clients and managing diverse IT environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, able to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organized and detail-oriented.
• Experience documenting technical processes, configurations and troubleshooting steps.

Preferred: Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator, M365 Administrator Expert, Endpoint Administrator), enterprise Microsoft environment management, cybersecurity best practices, firewall vendor experience (SonicWall, Fortinet, Meraki, Palo Alto), hybrid cloud support, network diagramming, ITSM and ticketing familiarity, and direct client-facing consulting experience.
