L2 Field Systems Engineer – Managed Services

About the role

Exigent, a long‑standing Managed Services Provider, is looking for a Level 2 Field Systems Engineer to deliver on‑site and remote IT support across New Jersey and New York City. The role blends strong technical troubleshooting with high‑quality client service, acting as the visible face of the company at customer locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote support for desktops, laptops, servers, networks, Microsoft 365, cloud services, and security technologies.
• Serve as a trusted technical presence at client sites, often being the primary point of contact for a designated client.
• Troubleshoot and resolve end‑user requests, server incidents, network issues, and cloud infrastructure problems.
• Own tickets from creation through resolution, ensuring clear communication, documentation, and escalation when needed.
• Perform hands‑on field engineering tasks such as equipment installation, replacements, deployments, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Assist with client onboarding, technology refreshes, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Collaborate with internal engineers, project teams, client stakeholders, and third‑party vendors.
• Maintain accurate ticket notes, client documentation, inventories, and configuration records.
• Participate in a rotating after‑hours on‑call schedule.

Required profile

• Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Organized, adaptable, and able to work independently in the field.
• Willingness to represent the company professionally and create a positive client experience.
