Key Account Manager – Pet Food & Supplies

About the role

We are looking for a high‑impact Key Account Manager with deep experience in the pet food and pet supplies industry. You will drive growth across our national retail channel, develop strategic sales plans, and strengthen vendor partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute national business plans to meet revenue and profit targets.
• Identify new market opportunities and build expansion strategies.
• Manage relationships with key retail accounts across the United States.
• Design tailored sales programs, promotions, and growth initiatives with vendors.
• Lead Quarterly Business Reviews, presenting performance insights and growth opportunities.
• Partner with Operations to streamline ordering, invoicing, and fulfillment.
• Collaborate with Vendor Management and Marketing to launch programs and campaigns.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of experience in consumer products or a related industry.
• 3+ years in Key Account Management within a retail environment.
• Pet industry experience, especially in pet food or supplies, is highly desirable.
• Proven success managing large, complex retail accounts.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
• Deep knowledge of retail KPIs, DSD models, and sales analytics.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
