About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Juvenile Probation & Parole Specialist II to support the rehabilitation of youth offenders in Thomasville. Under general supervision, you will provide social services, develop rehabilitation plans, and ensure compliance with court‑ordered conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and adherence to probation contracts.
• Recommend remedial or court action for non‑compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing, including random screens.
• Prepare and maintain case files for each assigned youth offender.
• Discuss how substance abuse, anger management, and other issues relate to criminal behavior.
• Conduct pre‑hearing investigations, testify in court, and recommend sentencing conditions.
• Inform offenders of conditional‑release requirements such as office visits, restitution, education, and employment stipulations.
• Write progress reports and investigate legal issues as needed.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in a social‑services delivery setting, or four years of direct case‑management experience.
• Ability to meet agency‑established physical‑agility standards and pass required assessments.
