About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II to support the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders in Cobb County. Working under general supervision, you will provide social services, monitor compliance, and assist with case planning for individuals on probation or parole.

Key responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to assess progress and compliance with rehabilitation plans.
• Recommend remedial or court actions for non‑compliance with probation or parole terms.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing, including random screens, to verify treatment program adherence.
• Maintain detailed case files for each assigned offender.
• Discuss the impact of substance abuse and anger management on criminal behavior.
• Conduct pre‑hearing investigations, testify in court, and recommend sentencing conditions.
• Inform offenders of conditional release requirements such as office visits, restitution, education, and employment stipulations.
• Write progress reports, investigate legal issues, and arrange medical, mental health, or substance‑abuse treatment as needed.
• Supervise community‑based sentences, including electronic monitoring and curfew checks.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a related field plus two years of human‑services experience, OR four years of direct case‑management experience with offenders, OR two years in a lower‑level Juvenile Probation/Parole position.
• Ability to maintain State of Georgia certification and meet licensing requirements.
