Junior Web Developer – NAVSUP NEW Ecosystem

About the role

The Junior Web Developer will support the design, development and maintenance of web‑based applications for the NAVSUP NEW ecosystem. Working under senior developers, you will help transform manual Navy processes into intelligent digital solutions that enhance readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full software development lifecycle for MyNAVSUP and other intranet/mobile applications.
• Perform routine site audits, maintenance and scaling of existing web properties.
• Write clean, efficient, testable front‑end code (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and integrate with back‑end services.
• Create responsive UI/UX designs that work across browsers and devices.
• Participate in stand‑ups, code reviews and stakeholder meetings.
• Conduct testing, debugging and regression testing to ensure stability.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures and user guides.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with an active DoD security clearance.
• 3‑5 years of professional web development experience, preferably in a government or DoD environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Current DoD 8570/8140 compliance (e.g., Security+ CE) is highly preferred.

Required skills

• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
• Modern front‑end frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
• Back‑end languages (PHP, Java, Node.js) and SQL databases.
• Version control with Git.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, Section 508 web accessibility, and RESTful API integration.
