Junior Security Specialist – Cybersecurity Operations

About the role

The Junior Security Specialist will support enterprise cybersecurity operations for the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Working under the Cybersecurity Lead, you will help monitor tools, investigate alerts, and assist in vulnerability remediation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise cybersecurity tools and dashboards.
• Review security alerts and investigate suspicious activity.
• Assist with cybersecurity incident investigations.
• Support vulnerability scanning and track remediation efforts.
• Validate remediation activities and analyze scan results.
• Support security assessments and prepare documentation.
• Maintain standard operating procedures and update incident tickets.
• Contribute to cybersecurity reporting, metrics, and continuous monitoring.
• Coordinate with system owners on vulnerability remediation and compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–3 years of experience with vulnerability scanning, remediation, and incident response.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a DOJ Public Trust clearance.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
