Junior Quality Assurance Engineer - Test Analyst & Automation (Python)

About the role

Interactive Brokers is looking for a Junior Quality Assurance Engineer to join its QA team. The role suits a recent graduate or early-career professional (0-3 years of experience) interested in software quality and structured testing, with a focus on manual test analysis and execution and support of Python-based test automation. Senior team members provide mentorship and guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform test analysis, test case design and test execution for customer-facing desktop and web applications
• Document test cases, test results and defect reports clearly and accurately
• Analyze and investigate defects, escalating findings to senior team members as appropriate
• Contribute to the maintenance and extension of existing Python-based automation scripts under the guidance of senior engineers
• Monitor and report on test execution results
• Work collaboratively across concurrent tasks with varying priorities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or final year student) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of software testing concepts (test design techniques, test lifecycle, defect management)
• 0-3 years of experience in software QA, testing or a related discipline
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Nice to have: interest in or exposure to financial/trading platforms; prior Java experience is desirable but not essential

Required skills

• Basic to intermediate Python
• Understanding of UI vs API-level testing
• Familiarity with bug tracking or collaboration tools such as JIRA or Confluence
• Nice to have: test automation libraries (Selenium, Robot Framework, Cypress), Git, CI/CD concepts (Jenkins), Unix/Linux command line
