Junior Engineer/Scientist/Technician for EPA Research Projects

About the role

ERG is seeking motivated junior engineers, scientists, and technicians to support EPA research projects. This position offers recent graduates hands‑on experience in specialized laboratories and field settings while working alongside senior experts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing new processes or experiments under senior guidance.
• Support preparation of technical reports, data analysis, and project documentation.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and repair laboratory and field equipment and instruments.
• Execute technical projects and collect data, perform tests, and compile results.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop innovative engineering or scientific solutions.
• Follow all safety guidelines and contribute to work plans, QAPPs, and health‑safety plans.

Required profile

• Highly motivated recent graduate or early‑career professional.
• Strong technical foundation with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work onsite in labs, machine shops, and field sites.

Required skills

• Laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Data analysis and technical report preparation.
• Troubleshooting and repair of scientific instruments.
• Familiarity with measurement methods and air‑quality simulation modeling (preferred).
