Junior Developer (Web & App Experience)

About the role

We are looking for a junior‑level developer who is passionate about creating best‑in‑class web and app experiences. You will join the award‑winning Graham Digital team, working on our websites and mobile apps that serve local journalism audiences across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship features for websites and apps that deliver high‑performance user experiences.
• Develop deeply personalized content experiences and improve video engagement, discovery, and monetization.
• Rapidly prototype new ideas, release them to production, and iterate based on real user behavior and metrics.
• Collaborate with product, design, newsroom, and digital teams to turn concepts into polished features.
• Apply modern development frameworks, tooling, and best practices to keep platforms fast, reliable, and scalable.
• Contribute to the evolution of web and app architecture by adopting new tools and techniques.

Required profile

• Frontend and backend experience with React or a similar modern JavaScript framework (e.g., Next.js, Vue, Svelte, Node.js).
• A portfolio of shipped work—personal projects, open‑source contributions, or professional experience—that shows design sensibility and performance focus.
• Comfort with version control, testing, deployment pipelines, and collaborative development practices.
• A bias toward shipping early versions and iterating based on feedback.
• Strong attention to visual polish and technical execution.
• Growth mindset and eagerness to learn in a fast‑moving environment.
