Junior Buyer

About the role

Star Retailers is seeking a Junior Buyer to help build a balanced product assortment that appeals to customers and maximises store profitability. Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you will work in a fast‑paced environment, using data and market insight to shape buying strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Source a variety of exciting products, focusing on top brands, both new and existing.
• Develop product ranges that stand out and meet customer preferences.
• Analyse customer behaviour data and sales reports to make informed buying decisions.
• Leverage market and business insights to drive commercial thinking.
• Identify emerging trends and act on them to keep the assortment fresh.
• Collaborate with suppliers to determine seasonal product strategies.
• Apply structured planning and organisation to manage tasks efficiently.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve buying processes.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Retail Business Management or Marketing.
• 1–3 years of buying experience.
• Strong negotiation skills (verbal and written) and a passion for the retail industry.
• Ability to work under pressure while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office.
• Creative inclination with entrepreneurial thinking.
