Jet Bridge Technician I (HVAC or Electrician) – Sign‑on Bonus

About the role

The Jet Bridge Technician I ensures that passenger boarding bridges, pre‑conditioned air units, ground power units and related airport infrastructure are maintained, repaired, and kept operational. This developmental position offers a $7,500 sign‑on bonus and a pathway to the Journey‑level Technician II role after 24 months of training and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and perform preventive maintenance on Jet Bridges, GPUs, PCAIR units, and associated HVAC systems.
• Use mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics to service roller, lift, and steering components of boarding bridges.
• Diagnose and fix electrical faults using wiring diagrams, DVOMs, amp probes, oscilloscopes, and load banks.
• Maintain HVAC components such as compressors, condensers, pumps, and refrigerant circuits, adhering to EPA regulations.
• Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and operate airport equipment including mobile lounges and personnel lifts.

Required profile

• Four years of progressive experience with ground power units, pre‑conditioned air units, or industrial HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of electrical theory, National Electric Code, and safe work practices on equipment up to 670 V.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.
• Valid state driver’s license; Class B Commercial Driver’s License within 90 days of hire.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification within six months of hire.

Required skills

• Jet Bridge mechanical maintenance (roller adjustments, lift column settings).
• GPU and PCAIR theory, troubleshooting, and repair.
• HVAC system servicing, refrigerant handling, and EPA compliance.
• Use of digital volt‑ohm meters, oscilloscopes, manifold pressure gauges, soldering and brazing tools.
• CMMS documentation and basic computer proficiency.
