About the role
CGI is looking for an enthusiastic full‑stack Java Developer to join a high‑performing Agile team building a modern, services‑based web application for a large government agency. The role is based in Lafayette, LA with a hybrid work model and offers the chance to work with Java, SpringBoot, PostgreSQL, Docker and other open‑source technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java/SpringBoot web applications.
- Write clean, well‑structured code in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and SQL.
- Participate in daily Agile ceremonies, code reviews and estimation sessions.
- Collaborate with clients, industry experts and end users to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Develop automated test scripts and contribute to continuous improvement of development tools.
- Assist in database design and optimize data access patterns.

- Creative, detail‑oriented developer who enjoys learning new technologies.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑moving team.
- Effective communicator comfortable interacting directly with clients and stakeholders.
