IT Technician

About the role

Amentum is seeking an IT Technician to support its SFHP site at Idaho National Lab. The role works with minimal supervision, providing IT and desktop support for the project site and collaborating with local project management to deliver IT support and define requirements for current and future projects.

Key responsibilities

• Work with existing IT security policies and procedures, and draft changes or new ones as needed
• Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory
• Install, configure and maintain PCs, mobile devices and peripherals such as printers
• Assist employees remotely via Teams or in person, and mentor others as needed
• Terminate, test and troubleshoot voice, video and data infrastructure
• Triage and resolve tickets in the IT ticketing system
• Help administer information systems and implement hardware and software, including building, upgrading, patching and migrating systems and applications
• Support customer surge plans, coordinate with Corporate IT and travel occasionally to other sites and Denver

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field plus 1 year of relevant experience, or an AS degree in a computer, engineering or system science discipline plus 3 years of relevant experience; significant experience may substitute for formal education
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience as a full-service IT support team member in a Windows AD environment
• Ability to work both online and on-site during work hours
• Background and drug testing required

Required skills

• Windows Active Directory domain controllers (preferred)
• AV/VTC hardware, software and network connections, including setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of AV equipment
• Knowledge of network connections and AV equipment
