IT Support Technician – Laredo, TX

About the role

We are seeking a well‑rounded IT Support Technician to join the Killam Companies Information Technology Department in Laredo, Texas. You will be the first point of contact for users, providing timely assistance and ensuring the reliability of our hardware, software, and network infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support to end‑users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers, iPhones, iPads, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Set up and manage IP phones, video‑conferencing systems, and Cat5/Cat6 cabling.
• Upgrade operating systems, install antivirus solutions, and apply system patches.
• Monitor internal reporting tools, report vulnerabilities, and collaborate with the IT team to resolve them.
• Maintain hardware and software inventory and create up‑to‑date IT documentation.
• Develop and follow IT procedures while building strong relationships across all departments.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Ability to sit for long periods, lift 10–20 lb, and use hands for computer equipment.
