IT Support Technician – COM Services

About the role
The University of Vermont seeks an IT Support Technician to provide comprehensive technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students within the College of Medicine (COM). You will work in a fast‑paced service center, handling walk‑in and phone inquiries while supporting a wide range of campus technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Assist users with Active Directory account issues, desktop and laptop hardware, and software installations.
- Troubleshoot network access, client/server connectivity, and basic networking problems.
- Support mobile devices, public computers, video‑conferencing, and audio/visual equipment.
- Provide on‑site help for complex issues, coordinating with other technical teams as needed.
- Participate in rollout of new technology initiatives and deliver end‑user training.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in technology support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and computer hardware.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other office‑support applications.
- Basic understanding of client/server networking.
