IT Support Specialist

About the role

M & H Valve and Tyler Union, divisions of McWane, Inc., serve the waterworks industry and are hiring an IT Support Specialist in Anniston. The specialist provides technical support for employees by maintaining computer hardware, software, network connectivity, telecommunications systems and related technology resources, troubleshooting issues, installing and configuring equipment, supporting end users and helping run the company's IT infrastructure. The role is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain software on company computers and devices, and set up, image and deploy desktops, laptops and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, software and connectivity issues and resolve help desk requests promptly.
• Support printers: install and configure network and local printers, fix drivers and connectivity, and perform maintenance such as toner replacement.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting, test cabling, switches and ports, and assist with LAN/WAN connectivity problems.
• Support Microsoft 365 applications and services, and maintain IT inventory and documentation.
• Take part in technology projects, upgrades and system deployments, and follow IT security policies.
• Provide on-site support across manufacturing and office environments.

Required profile

• An associate's degree in information technology, computer information systems, computer science or a related field is preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• 1-3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support or similar roles is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments is preferred; manufacturing environment experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and support a proactive, solution-oriented culture.
