IT Support Engineer – Internal Infrastructure & Automation

About the role

SimplePractice is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join its Internal IT team. You will help maintain the company’s infrastructure, build automation tools, and resolve user‑reported issues, ensuring a reliable and HIPAA‑compliant environment for clinicians and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Spend 25% of time on new IT initiatives and projects, 75% on day‑to‑day infrastructure maintenance and support requests.
• Design, develop, and implement internal technical solutions that boost employee productivity and enable self‑service IT.
• Apply security and compliance controls to meet HIPAA requirements for internal systems.
• Support Single Sign‑On (SSO) and software integration workflows.
• Create scripts and automations using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Develop and maintain a knowledge base, and train employees on new processes and tools.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to provide after‑hours support.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the organization.

• Ability to work under the supervision of the IT lead and collaborate with multinational teams.
• Willingness to be on‑call during evenings and weekends.
