IT Security Specialist

About the role

The IT Security Specialist will protect Heidelberg Materials’ North American operations by monitoring, investigating and responding to cyber threats. Working in a collaborative, hybrid environment, you will help maintain a strong security posture across a large, distributed organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents and coordinate response actions.
• Administer and improve security tools, monitoring platforms and endpoint protection solutions.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, track findings and drive remediation with stakeholders.
• Develop, implement and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures.
• Partner with IT teams to ensure secure configurations, access controls and network protections.
• Conduct security reviews, risk assessments and compliance activities.
• Support incident‑response planning, testing and post‑incident analysis.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management and best practices.
• Ability to analyze security events and recommend effective mitigations.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging threats.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with GRC tools.
• Endpoint protection technologies.
• Vulnerability management platforms.
• Identity and access management (IAM) tools.
