IT Security Analyst – Remote

About the role

Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking an IT Security Analyst to work remotely. You will perform threat hunting, respond to active cybersecurity incidents, and fine‑tune advanced technical controls to protect patient data.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, content filtering, and endpoint protection.
• Respond to and coordinate investigations of cybersecurity incidents to ensure rapid containment and remediation.
• Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments across systems, networks, and applications.
• Enforce enterprise security policies, review violation reports, and document controls.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and IT leadership on authentication, encryption, and breach escalation procedures.
• Perform ongoing security research to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of overall IT experience, including at least 3 years in information security.
• Hands‑on experience with anti‑malware, EDR/XDR platforms, and complex cyber investigations or threat‑hunting missions.
• Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux environments and solid understanding of network traffic analysis (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
• Proven ability to contain and remediate security breaches and communicate risks to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Available to work during Central Standard Time business hours, independently or as part of a team.
