IT Help Desk Technician

About the role

The IT Help Desk Technician provides front‑line technical support for staff and students across the NOLA Public Schools district. Working closely with the Help Desk Coordinator, the technician ensures hardware, software, and network issues are resolved quickly and that users are empowered to troubleshoot basic problems.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to help‑desk tickets, diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems.
• Assist with re‑imaging of district computers and maintain up‑to‑date equipment inventory.
• Provide one‑on‑one training and guidance to users on a variety of technology topics.
• Develop user self‑diagnosis skills and encourage clear trouble‑report submissions.
• Prepare monthly reports on frequent issues and recommend process improvements.
• Attend trainings, conferences, and meetings to stay current with district technology.
• Perform additional duties as required to support district IT operations.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or at least 48 college credit hours.
• Minimum three years of experience in help‑desk support, network setup, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Windows operating systems, and Munis software.
