IT Computer Support Specialist – Full-Time

About the role

The Computer Support Specialist works under the direction of the IT Service Desk Supervisor to provide technical assistance to county employees. This full‑time position focuses on resolving hardware and software issues, managing assets, and supporting on‑site audio/visual needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide computer hardware and software technical support for county staff.
• Respond to user requests, troubleshoot, and resolve computer‑related problems.
• Process computer assets, including procurement involvement and vendor coordination.
• Install, configure, and repair PCs, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
• Upgrade hardware and software as needed.
• Deliver periodic on‑site A/V support during business and after‑hours.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an associate degree with related experience.
• 1‑3 years of experience in IT service and support.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 lb for hardware handling.

Required skills

• Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Computer hardware installation, configuration and repair.
• Printer and scanner troubleshooting.
• Hardware asset processing and procurement involvement.
• Vendor relationship management for procurement and warranty support.
• Audio/Visual (A/V) on‑site support.
