About the role
Parsons is seeking a Technical Subject Matter Expert with a Top Secret SCI clearance and polygraph to provide technical support for government‑directed virtual operations. The role involves designing, configuring, deploying, monitoring, and sustaining secure, scalable infrastructure that enables global virtual access and operational resilience.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, and maintain infrastructure supporting authorized virtual operations, including virtual private servers, remote access nodes, proxy layers, routing solutions, and segmented environments.
- Support network configurations such as VPNs, gateways, DNS management, traffic routing, and secure remote connectivity while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity controls, government policies, and contract requirements.
- Perform system health checks, logging review, performance tuning, patching, and lifecycle maintenance, and diagnose network, latency, and service delivery issues across distributed environments.
- Coordinate with program managers, cyber defenders, system administrators, and mission stakeholders, creating technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and configuration baselines.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or Engineering.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant technical experience in network engineering, systems administration, and cyber infrastructure.
- Experience working in classified, regulated, or government‑controlled operational settings is preferred.
Required skills
- Secure network architecture, proxy and relay infrastructure.
- Virtualized environments and cloud‑hosted services (e.g., VMware, KVM, containers).
- Traffic management, identity separation measures, and secure routing.
- TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, NAT, segmentation principles.
- Linux and/or Windows system administration in enterprise or mission environments.
- Logging, monitoring, configuration management, and infrastructure hardening.
- Scripting/automation using Bash, PowerShell, Python or similar languages.

- Salary range: $125,100 – $225,200 per year.
