iOS Software Engineer – Electronic Flight Bag (EFB)

About the role

Beacon AI is seeking an iOS Software Engineer to join its mobile team and build high‑impact iPad applications for its flight safety platform. You will work on Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) features, handling large aviation data sets and ensuring reliable operation in offline environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS frameworks.
• Build and maintain high‑performance apps that process real‑time wind and weather data.
• Develop EFB capabilities such as location services, map navigation, and aviation instrument displays.
• Integrate external hardware and edge devices for real‑time data ingestion.
• Architect offline‑first experiences and graceful degradation for low‑connectivity scenarios.
• Implement background processing with Swift Concurrency, async/await, and background task APIs.
• Apply data security best practices, including Keychain storage and encryption.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and designers, participate in code reviews, and ensure code quality through testing and documentation.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional iOS development experience.
• Strong performance focus with experience handling large data sets.
• Understanding of safety‑critical, offline‑first mobile applications.
