Inventory Control Specialist

About the role

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is looking for an Inventory Control Specialist for its recycling facility and offsite warehouse, covering raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products. The role supports shipping and receiving as needed, helps with data collection and serves as a model for safety and operational excellence. It reports directly to the Logistics Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a culture of safety compliance, especially regarding material handling equipment, and complete physical tasks as directed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and manage the internal flow of raw material documentation and certificates.
• Manage data and transactions in a Warehouse Management System and create reports for management decisions.
• Establish and model quality control mechanisms and conduct cycle counts and physical inventory programs.
• Develop and implement cycle counts and root cause analysis to improve training material.
• Compile, verify and report daily or periodic inventory statistics, research variances and log findings for operational review.
• Ensure compliance with inventory procedures and contractual obligations, and communicate inventory accuracy or other metrics.

Required profile

• Cycle count and fiscal year-end count experience.
• Internal auditing experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted; ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and wear PPE; 20/20 vision; able to work in noisy, dusty and chemically exposed environments.
• Strong written and spoken English; willingness to travel during the week to the offsite warehouse.
• Preferred: shipping and receiving experience, inventory control experience, leadership experience.

Required skills

• Skilled level of Microsoft Excel.
• Forklift or other pit equipment operation experience.
• Demonstrated safety track record.
