Intern – Information Technology (OIT‑SIS)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Information Technology intern to support the Office of Information Technology’s Student Information Services (SIS) team at Texas A&M International University. The role offers hands‑on experience with university data systems while working on‑site in Laredo.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and generate reports using data from the Student Information System.
• Ensure SIS and related services comply with university policies, PCI, FERPA, HIPAA and Texas regulations.
• Provide local support for SQL‑based student database applications.
• Develop and modify programs to extract data from SIS.
• Assist departments with SIS usage, data maintenance and analytical requests.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an Information Technology, Computer Science or related degree program.
• At least half‑time enrollment (6 credit hours undergraduate, 3 graduate).
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate) and meet TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress policy.
