About the role
The United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) is seeking a motivated intern to support the Global Security Information Center (GSIC) in New York. This six‑month, unpaid internship offers hands‑on experience in data‑driven analysis within a global security context, contributing to decision‑making during crises and emergencies.
Key responsibilities
- Generate and communicate data‑driven analyses and insights to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Assist in developing new methodologies and solutions for evolving security challenges.
- Support the GSIC’s information management and crisis‑response functions.
- Collaborate with staff members to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with a strong interest in security and data science.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, dynamic team.
- Flexibility to adapt to onsite, hybrid, or remote work arrangements as needed.
