Intermediate Architect – Multi‑Family Housing

About the role
NDNY Architecture + Design is seeking an Intermediate Architect with strong experience in multi‑family residential projects (99 units and up) to join our New York studio. The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, developing design concepts, and guiding projects from schematic design through construction administration.
Key responsibilities
- Independently manage 2‑3 multi‑family housing projects at various stages.
- Develop and communicate design concepts in collaboration with the design team.
- Ensure compliance with NYC zoning, building codes, LPC and DOB permitting processes.
- Oversee day‑to‑day project coordination, client communication, and production of approval and construction drawings.
- Produce project deliverables including schedules, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and specifications.
- Coordinate sub‑consultants such as civil, MEP, structural, and lighting designers.
- Conduct construction administration, review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide clarification sketches.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 + post‑degree years of experience in an architecture office.
- Proven experience on design and construction phases of multi‑family residential projects in NYC.
- Excellent English communication skills and client‑facing abilities.
- Currently residing in NYC and able to start immediately.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
