Interior Design Manager – Luxury Residential & Club Projects

About the role

Discovery Land Company is seeking an experienced Interior Design Manager to lead the design vision for luxury residential homes and club amenities at Homewood Mountain & Lake Club near Lake Tahoe. The role will coordinate consultants, manage client selections, and ensure seamless integration of design into construction documents.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to enforce overall vision, program, and design direction for DLC projects.
• Manage consultants and oversee production of architectural and engineering drawings for residential and amenity projects.
• Meet with prospective clients and sales teams to review product options and discuss design selections.
• Schedule, conduct, and document customer meetings to capture selections and relay them to consultants and the design team.
• Create and maintain a selections book for each home and ensure proper handoff to construction.
• Provide vendors with specifications and design information for products used in developments.
• Lead meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients, preparing agendas and distributing minutes.
• Mentor design assistants, guiding task completion and reporting.
• Coordinate with operations on area programming, working with FF&E consultants and construction to execute design for the club.
• Collaborate with client consultants and vendors to ensure up‑to‑date information for construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in architectural planning and design on luxury‑level projects, including horizontal development.
• Architectural registration not required; non‑active registration acceptable.
• Proven experience resourcing, selecting, and managing consultant teams for high‑end residential and golf‑club amenity projects.
• Strong understanding of front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations related to new construction design and programming.
