Interim General Counsel (Maternity Coverage)

About the role

Dollar Shave Club is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Interim General Counsel while covering maternity leave. Reporting directly to the CEO and joining the Executive Team, you will provide strategic, commercially‑focused legal guidance across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the internal legal team, setting priorities and managing workload.
• Oversee relationships with outside counsel and control legal budgets.
• Provide corporate governance and transactional advice.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including service, vendor, licensing, manufacturing, lease, and employment contracts.
• Advise on brand, marketing, influencer, sponsorship, and promotional activities to ensure compliance.
• Guide the Direct‑to‑Consumer team on e‑commerce, subscription, auto‑renewal, and checkout compliance.
• Support cross‑functional teams on data privacy obligations, including GDPR and U.S. privacy laws.

Required profile

• J.D. degree with an active license to practice in at least one U.S. state and in good standing.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience handling corporate, commercial, privacy, consumer protection, and advertising law.

Required skills

• Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts.
• Deep knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, U.S. state and federal laws).
• Experience with e‑commerce, subscription models, and advertising compliance.
