Intelligence & Threat Analyst

About the role

Aether Aerospace is looking for a Functional Area Analyst II to join the Office of the Secretary of War Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation Joint Data Support team in the National Capital Region. The analyst will provide intelligence analysis, strategic assessments, and future force planning focused on non‑U.S. military capabilities, allied forces, and near‑peer threats. The position is based on‑site at the Mark Center Building in Alexandria, VA.

Key responsibilities

• Support the collection, validation, and maintenance of non‑U.S. military force, unit, equipment, and infrastructure data.
• Conduct intelligence analysis on allied, partner nation, and near‑peer adversary capabilities and operational environments.
• Develop and maintain databases of historical, current, and projected foreign force structure and capabilities.
• Collaborate with Intelligence Community and DoD stakeholders to acquire data and support analytic efforts.
• Document data quality, classification considerations, and source pedigree for intelligence datasets.
• Produce tailored datasets for studies, simulations, and assessments.
• Research foreign military trends and strategic threat environments.
• Prepare briefings, technical reports, presentations, and study support materials.
• Respond to rapid data calls, ad‑hoc analysis requests, and support strategic planning initiatives.

Required profile

• Active SECRET clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum five years of experience in intelligence analysis, military operations analysis, defense analytics, or related DoD work.
• Familiarity with non‑U.S. military capabilities and strategic threat analysis.
• Experience working with defense‑related datasets and databases.
• Strong analytical, research, and communication abilities.
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, mission‑focused analytic environments.
