Intelligence Planner – Mid

About the role

Amentum is recruiting an Intelligence Planner (mid level) for the National Capital Region, working on behalf of DIA. The role integrates defense and national intelligence capabilities, collection, analysis and targeting into operational planning across the Department of Defense, so that intelligence is available on time and on target when campaigns or crises arise. The position is contingent on contract award, business needs, security clearance verification and funding availability, and follows a 0600–1800, 8-hour, Monday to Friday schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate collection, analytic and targeting capabilities into operational planning across the DoD
• Support campaign plans, deliberate planning, crisis management and time-sensitive planning under the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES)
• Assist with red teaming and intelligence operations feasibility assessments
• Prepare planning documents, written products and executive briefings for government decision makers
• Collaborate with analysts, collection managers and operational planners across organizational boundaries

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• 8+ years of relevant intelligence or operational planning experience, with recent experience in the last 2 years
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Preferred: prior DIA or IC planning experience, joint staff or Combatant Command J2/J5 experience, planning certifications or joint professional military education

Required skills

• Working knowledge of JOPES and the joint planning process
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with intelligence professionals and operational planners
