Integration Engineer, Propulsion

About the role

Join BETA Technologies to help develop electric propulsion units from concept to certified product. You will translate high‑level EPU requirements into motor and inverter sizing, architecture, and integration solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and challenge top‑level aircraft requirements, perform 1D simulations, hand calculations, preliminary CFD and FEA for motor, inverter, cooling and structural architecture.
• Define detailed design requirements, manage mechanical, electrical and functional interfaces, and coordinate changes with external customers.
• Collaborate with systems and certification teams to ensure product certifiability.
• Develop test plans to verify propulsion system performance during development and certification phases.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience with electromechanical component design, analysis and testing.
• Strong ability to view the product as part of a larger system and work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills.
• Flexibility to adapt direction based on new information in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Catia 3DX or equivalent CAD, GD&T.
• CFD tools (SolidWorks Flow Simulation or FloEFD).
• MATLAB/Simulink for data analysis and GUI development.
• FEA experience (ANSYS preferred).
• Understanding of certification and safety requirements.
• Knowledge of vibration, rotating machinery, electrical motors, inverters and SPMSM control.
