Intake & Access Coordinator – Intellectual Disability & Autism

About the role

The Intake & Access Coordinator supports individuals and families with intellectual disability, autism, developmental disability, and medically complex conditions in Allegheny County. Working within the Office of Developmental Support, you will guide clients through eligibility, resource mapping, and service selection while upholding self‑determination principles.

Key responsibilities

• Determine system eligibility and enter data into the ODS Intake and Registration Application.
• Provide accurate information on ODS services, community resources, and supports coordination organizations.
• Conduct intake meetings in homes or community settings and travel as needed.
• Use “Charting the Life Course” tools to develop resource maps and follow‑up on effectiveness.
• Collaborate with ODS teams (Multi‑System, LeCSI, Planning) and external partners such as the PA Family Network.
• Assist families with applications for Medical Assistance and explain appeal rights.
• Document resources and outcomes in individual records and contribute to planning team meetings.

Required profile

• Experience working with individuals/families who have intellectual or developmental disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of community and state service systems.
• Ability to travel within and outside the county and maintain flexible hours.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the ODS Intake and Registration online portal.
• Familiarity with “Charting the Life Course” planning tools.
