Insurance Verification Specialist II (Benton/Bryant)

About the role

The Insurance Verification Specialist II supports UAMS Health by confirming patients' insurance eligibility and benefits before clinical services. This position ensures accurate billing and smooth patient flow within the Benton/Bryant facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits for scheduled appointments and procedures.
• Enter and update verification data in the Workday system and other internal platforms.
• Communicate with insurance carriers, patients, and clinical staff to resolve coverage questions.
• Maintain accurate records of verification outcomes and document any discrepancies.
• Assist with pre‑authorization requests and follow‑up on pending authorizations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health administration is a plus.
• Prior experience in medical insurance verification or a related healthcare support role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Workday or similar HR/HRIS platforms.
