Insurance Agent Trainee – Life Insurance Sales

About the role

Kemper is seeking motivated individuals to join its field sales team as Insurance Agent Trainees. You will start with a paid training program that prepares you for licensing exams and equips you to sell life insurance policies to modest‑income families in Shreveport.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct sales presentations, recommend products and close new life‑insurance sales.
• Prospect for new sales opportunities through personal home visits.
• Collect monthly premiums from an assigned book of business on a schedule you set.
• Handle service requests such as beneficiary changes, claims and policy loans.
• Maintain accurate records, account for collected money and process policy paperwork.
• Provide ongoing customer service and relationship management.

Required profile

• Willingness to obtain the required insurance license during the paid training period.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for face‑to‑face interactions.
• Ability to work independently in a field‑based environment.
• Commitment to serving modest‑income families and delivering high‑quality service.
• Motivation to earn income based on performance and sales results.

Required skills

• No specific technical tools are mandated; basic computer and paperwork handling skills are sufficient.
• Organizational ability to track premiums, customer data and policy documents.
