Instrument Technician – UAMS Health Benton/Bryant

About the role

The Instrument Technician supports the UAMS Health facilities in Benton and Bryant by ensuring that all medical equipment operates safely and efficiently. This position involves routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide range of clinical instruments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs on medical devices and instrumentation.
• Document service activities, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.
• Assist in equipment installation, testing, and validation.
• Provide technical support to clinical staff and respond to service calls promptly.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, clinical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working with medical equipment in a hospital or clinical setting.
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for healthcare instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.
