Instructor - Physics/Physical Science

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a full‑time Instructor of Physics/Physical Science for its Lawrenceville campus. This 12‑month, benefited position reports to the Dean of Education and offers a salary of $64,480 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and deliver classroom instruction for credited physics courses.
• Develop program outlines, syllabi, goals, and objectives.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain academic records.
• Request and manage supplies, equipment, and budget allocations.
• Ensure safety and security standards in laboratory and classroom settings.
• Participate in staff development, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
• Support recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in physics or a related discipline, or a Master’s with 18 graduate credit hours in the field.
• Experience teaching college‑level physics at two‑year or technical colleges (preferred).
• Experience in curriculum development and use of diverse teaching strategies.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
• Computer literacy and proficiency with common software applications.
• Experience with online instruction is a plus.
