Instructor – Neurology (Epilepsy) – One-year Fellowship

About the role

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking an Instructor (Fellow) for a one-year Epilepsy fellowship within the Department of Neurology. The position provides advanced training in the care of patients with epilepsy, combining clinical duties, research, and education.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre-surgical evaluations using intracranial electrodes, including depth electrodes and subdural grids.
• Map eloquent cortex through electrical stimulation of depth electrodes and subdural grids.
• Interpret EEG studies at UMH, the PAC, Jackson Memorial Hospital and Jackson South.
• Cover call schedule for the epilepsy-monitoring unit when first-year fellows are unavailable.
• Run outpatient clinics, including a bi-weekly satellite clinic in Boca Raton.
• Develop and conduct a research project under faculty mentorship and submit at least one abstract to a national or international meeting.
• Teach medical students, neurology residents and junior fellows.

Required profile

• Medical Degree from an accredited medical school.
• Florida medical license and eligibility for board certification in Neurology and Psychiatry.
• Preference for candidates who have completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology.
