Instructor - Biology

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Instructor to teach Biology courses at Gwinnett Technical College’s Lawrenceville campus. This full‑time, benefited position involves delivering face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online instruction to support student success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lesson plans, syllabi, and course materials for credited Biology courses.
• Teach Anatomy and Physiology I & II and related subjects across multiple delivery formats.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and maintain academic records.
• Manage classroom supplies, equipment, and budget requests.
• Ensure program certification compliance and complete required administrative reports.
• Participate in professional development, workshops, and conferences.
• Promote safety and security within instructional spaces.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners on recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Biology (or related discipline) – or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours in the field.
• Experience teaching college‑level Biology, especially Anatomy and Physiology, in two‑year or technical colleges.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop curricula and adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in common software applications; experience with online instruction is a plus.

Required skills

• Use of standard office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms and advanced instructional technologies.
