Instructional Assistant Professor of Special Education (2 openings)

About the role

Texas A&M International University seeks two Instructional Assistant Professors of Special Education to begin in Fall 2027. This non‑tenure‑track, nine‑month faculty position involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, and contributing to departmental service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 15 semester credit hours per semester across face‑to‑face and online modalities.
• Mentor students and serve on departmental, college, university, and professional committees.

Required profile

• Doctorate in Special Education or a closely related field (ABD candidates considered if completed before start date).
• Current special education teaching license or eligibility, and classroom teaching experience at the Pre‑K–12 level.

Required skills

• Ability to teach effectively in both in‑person undergraduate and online graduate courses.
• Documented potential or record of special education work in public schools.
