Instructional Aide – Culinary Arts

About the role

Columbus Technical College is seeking a part‑time Instructional Aide to support the Culinary Arts program. The aide assists faculty in delivering classroom instruction, hands‑on kitchen labs, and ensures a safe, productive learning environment for students.

Key responsibilities

• Assist instructors with demonstrations, presentations, and classroom instruction.
• Prepare and set up instructional materials, laboratory exercises, and culinary equipment.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and request needed materials.
• Provide individual and small‑group tutoring to reinforce learning.
• Support students and faculty during hands‑on lab activities, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met.
• Perform clerical tasks such as grade entry, Blackboard updates, and record‑keeping.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Diploma or technical certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field.
• At least six months recent experience in the culinary industry.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Blackboard learning management system.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
