Instructional Aide (1:1 Support)

About the role

Accel Schools is looking for a 1:1 Instructional Aide to support teachers at Sagewood STEAM Academy in Columbus, Ohio. The aide will work directly with students, assisting with classroom activities, reinforcing positive behavior, and ensuring a safe learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the teacher by delivering lessons to individual students or small groups following the instructional plan.
• Assist in planning and executing classroom activities, parent‑faculty events, assemblies, and field trips.
• Perform clerical tasks such as grading papers, making copies, and managing classroom technology.
• Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, lunchroom, and other school areas.
• Provide supervision during morning duty, dismissal, lunch, and other school duties to promote student safety.

Required profile

• Associate degree, two years of college coursework, or successful completion of the Paraprofessional’s Exam.
• Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and school staff.
• Commitment to the school’s philosophy and mission.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
