About the role

The Institutional Review Board Coordinator supports the Human Subjects Research Protections Program at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi, ensuring research involving human participants complies with IRB regulations and protects participant safety, rights, and welfare.

Key responsibilities

• Process and pre‑review research protocols, determine IRB applicability, and guide investigators through submission and approval.
• Provide administrative support for the IRB, including board member onboarding, meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, minutes, and maintaining IRB registrations.
• Conduct routine monitoring of approved studies, coordinate training on IRB compliance, and assist other committees such as IBC and IACUC.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of experience in research compliance, legal, or a related field.
• Strong ability to prioritize submissions, meet review timelines, and interpret complex regulations and auditor requirements.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Cayuse research compliance software.
